Sourdough Honey Bread with Heritage Wheat
Tasty Sourdough bread for your daily use enriched with eggs and wonderfully tasting locally-sourced honey. The wheat I can use is pre-hybridized, pre-1950’s wheat that many people find more digestible. There have been many changes in wheat since the 1950s and the introduction of intensive plant breeding has made modern wheat more challenging to digest. Many are rediscovering the joy of wheat again with our heritage grains. Heritage Organic Flour, Sourdough, Flour, Locally Sourced Honey, Egg, Soybean Oil, Butter
Our Story
The Hometown Baker
Baking has always been part of my life. What began as a simple love for creating treats in our family kitchen has grown into a small hometown bakery rooted in tradition, generosity, and the joy of sharing something homemade.
Some of my favorite childhood memories are of baking with my mom. Our freezer was always stocked with goodies—ready for dad’s lunch, unexpected visitors, or a friend who needed a little extra love. We even learned to enjoy cookies frozen, mostly because you had to grab them quickly before anyone noticed you sneaking one.
Every winter, we’d gather around Mom’s well‑worn cookbook and make our list of Christmas favorites. Many of those recipes only appeared once a year, which made the season feel magical. We baked and baked until we had a lineup of 12 to 20 different treats, all destined for the cookie platters we gifted to friends, neighbors, and the businesses we worked with. To this day, it doesn’t feel like Christmas unless that tradition is honored.
My hope is that the same warmth, care, and kindness my mom poured into every relationship—and every recipe—comes through in the treats I make today. This bakery is more than a business; it’s a continuation of her legacy and a way to share a little homemade comfort with our community.
Warmly,
Marsha — Your Hometown Baker
